Virtually every sector of EMS has experienced an upheaval, courtesy of the COVID-19 pandemic. Economic, societal, and political forces are challenging the industry’s sustainability, forcing leaders to adapt, innovate and evolve.

Resource deployment, alternative response models, the role of first responders, volume diversion mechanisms and EMS’s position in the greater healthcare ecosystem are some of the topics receiving the most attention.

In this session, leaders representing a range of EMS service delivery models will share their setbacks and successes as they work to develop new strategies to propel their organizations through this unprecedented time. You will also collaborate with other participants to determine what has and has not worked in your agency when implementing new methods, systems, and processes.

You will learn about:

  • How is SSM evolving to meet new challenges?
  • Is ALS necessary?
  • Where is EMS’s seat at the table?
  • Does volume diversion work?
  • Is EMS essential?
