EMS organizations are in the middle of a great reset. Are you ready to face disruption head on? Caregiver expectations have dramatically changed. Resignations, personnel shortages, dramatic compensation increases, generational issues, diversity challenges and regulatory compliance are representative of today’s increasingly complex EMS workforce environment. How will you deal with the changes and challenges ahead?

You will learn:

  • Innovative strategies to deal with contemporary HR issues
  • Enhanced selection and assessment center tactics
  • The power of improving your agency’s performance feedback
  • Leadership balance to circumvent “group think” and increase productivity
  • How to help supervisors enhance caregiver satisfaction through Appreciative Supervision
  • Compliance with federal mandates and regulations (Vaccines, FMLA, OSHA, minimum wage)
  • Legal cases that could keep you up at night and how to future proof your agency
  • How timely customer service feedback can positively influence organization culture

We invite you to explore these issues, with other leaders and those responsible for HR functions. This workshop involves a mix of expert presentations, case studies and small group discussion to develop solutions to specific topics chosen by participants. It is led by ASM Core Faculty Member, Hannah Fitch. She’ll be joined by presenters including an HR analyst for PepsiCo as well as Josh McGaughey, Assistant Chief of St. Charles County Ambulance District; Kevin Fairlie, JD, MHA, a healthcare and EMS attorney; Jason Abel, JD, MHA, a firefighter/paramedic and EMS legal and HR consultant; Kathryn Wire, JD, MBA, executive director of the Center for Patient Safety; and Maria Beermann-Foat, PhD, EMS Training Coordinator for the Eugene Springfield Fire Department in Oregon.
