What days should I plan to attend Pinnacle?

Pinnacle events run from Monday, August 3, through Friday, August 7. Monday and Tuesday morning are devoted to optional Pinnacle Power Seminars, in-depth workshops that run for a half-day (registration and additional fee required). The main conference kicks off Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 and runs through Thursday evening. On Friday, special bonus sessions are available at no additional cost.

Can I attend for a single day?

Pinnacle is designed as a complete event, and we encourage you to take advantage of the entire Pinnacle experience, including presentations, panel discussions, participatory roundtables, and networking events such as meals, special meetings and receptions. But we also recognize that EMS leaders have many demands on their time, so we do allow single-day registrations for people whose schedules are limited. Just choose the Single Day option when you register.

Where is Pinnacle being held?

Pinnacle events take place at the Omni Plantation on Amelia Island. See maps and driving directions.

Can I bring a companion or my family?

Yes. Many busy EMS leaders combine Pinnacle with a family vacation. Guest registration is required for spouses and others not in the industry who wish to attend breakfasts, receptions and Pinnacle social events, at a nominal fee. If you would also like to purchase lunch for a guest, contact Sharon Conroy via e-mail or by phone at 816-431-2600.

What’s included with my registration?

Pinnacle is an exceptional value—your registration fee includes all main conference presentations, breakfast and lunch on Wednesday and Thursday, plus coffee/snacks and receptions.

Is Pinnacle a trade show or association meeting?

Neither. Pinnacle is a participatory educational experience for EMS leaders. Unlike typical conferences and chaotic trade shows, Pinnacle invites sponsors and faculty to participate in roundtable discussions with attendees for true collaboration and open dialogue. There are also several opportunities to visit with a select number of sponsors in a low-key, tabletop environment.

Who attends Pinnacle?

EMS chiefs, leaders, administrators, medical directors, managers, educators and innovators all attend Pinnacle. They come from systems of all sizes and types, from fire departments and municipal third services to private, not-for-profit and hospital-based organizations. It’s a one-of-a-kind environment, in which competition and politics are set aside in the pursuit of collaboration and solutions to common challenges.

What are Power Seminars? Are they included with my registration?

Pinnacle Power Seminars™ are in-depth workshops that run for a half-day on Monday morning, Monday afternoon, and Tuesday morning. Registration and an additional fee are required.

Are there registration discounts?

Yes. Better yet, by combining discounts, you can save up to $285. See Pinnacle discounts.

Where is the registration desk, and when is it open?

How early do I need to reserve my room?

Family-friendly villas with up to 3 bedrooms are also available on-site, a short walk from the main building. Reserve by calling 800-THE-OMNI or 800-843-6664. Or reserve online now.

Should I rent a car?

If you’re coming with a group or traveling with your family, or if you plan on site-seeing, a rental car is recommended.

Is there a shuttle from the airport?

Special Pinnacle discounted airport shuttle service is $35 per person each way including tax and gratuity. Book your ride through the Omni by calling 904-261-6161.

What should I wear?

Pinnacle is a leadership event in a relaxed, informal environment. Most participants wear business casual attire (e.g., slacks and polo shirt with or without a jacket). Uniforms typically are not worn unless specified by your organization’s policy.

What kind of weather should I expect?

Amelia Island is typically 10 degrees cooler than Central or South Florida. Expect average daytime highs of 90 degrees, and lows of 72. Cooling ocean breezes make evenings perfect for exploring or unwinding.
